best advice - if you dont know which parts to put on, read up on here for a while and hold onto your money. I'd really advise you to take this car to the track for a driver education event.

I agree. Until you understand the dynamics of the car, I would suggest just driving it and learning what it can and can't do. Study this site and learn what works well and what doesn't. Above all the best advice I can give is just enjoy the car.

As others have said, try leaving the car stock for a while, get to know it.

However there are a few things I would do and I would do them right away.
#1- take the car to a good Honda dealer and have them do a 4-wheel alignment and have the settings put to stock. I did not notice if you said yours in new or used, but it does not matter, most if not all the new ones don't have settings that are correct. My new '02 with 1,500 miles had 70% of their settings off the OEM range. If the car is not set correct you will have no way of critiquing the handling characteristics of the car.

#2- I would buy a Voodoo Magnum shift knob from Rick's Accessories. As much as I have done to my car, this still remains my favorite mod.

Now if you are just dying to spend money, do some things to the car that will not alter stuff you might do in the future. Here are a few ideas, and you can search the forum to find out all the details on these things. Neuspeed X-brace, Neuspeed Shock Tower Brace, Zaino wax.

Have fun, and take advantage of the huge experience and knowledge that can be found in this forum.

blazin - those are two different intakes and two different exhausts. the spoon is a single and the mugen is a dual with titanium canisters. the intake - the spoon adds to the stock box while the mugen replaces the intake itself. the mugen items are very high priced but also very high quality. just look through the LIBRARY section of this site for some general information and browse through other's comments on products that might interest you.

I agree with the advice you're getting here:

get the alignment checked/set
take a performance driving class where you can learn your S2000's handling
learn the stock car; find out what you like and what you want to change
read here to see what people think of various mods

Here's my suggestion: use this site as a resource to meet other local S2000 owners, so you can see/feel/hear other people's mods in person. That's one of the best parts of S2000 meets.

So many things are subjective, like the feel of a shift knob or the sound of an exhaust; one person may love it, while another will hate it. There's no right or wrong on those things, just what you like. So checking things out in person can save a lot of $$$$ and disappointment.

Have fun,

Ted
