Default Just got an S2000 as a Project Car.

well, my brother and I received an S2000 from my dad as a project car. He gave it to us with specific instructions not to touch our exisiting cars, 350z's. now the question is what to do. turbo is out of the question due to lag. i want more power than what the convention SC put out. if i were to do internal mods and head work with a SC running 12psi what type of HP might i be looking at here? also, what is the highest N/A running S2000 out there? how much WHP? the highest i have seen so far N/A was 260whp. the highest turbo i have seen was my friend chris's with 463 @17psi.

So what to do? please help me out here. i want it to be fast enough to race on a course track, but not fast enough to get out of hand. money IS NOT important, but please be realistic.

thanks
john

Do a search on Krazik, one of our board directors, he has a track monster that has been stripped to just the essentials for a good track car!
keep us posted, since you are in Florida what and where are you planning on tracking your car?

Yeah, krazik-ifying the car would give you the biggest bang for your buck, since you're not worried about streetability. It'll be much more gratifying since it improves all aspects of the car's performance (handling, response, tire/brake wear...) not just straight line speeds.

My S2000 puts out 350 rwhp with a pulley upgrade, AEM, and bigger injectors. I blew the diff up pretty fast. It's 6k US or so to get to my power level, or so.

If you're tall like me (6'3) I recommend a roll cage as a first mod after the SC. Don't wanna be road pizza!

Jason, $6K sounds cheap. But then again you blew up your diff. I would think a car at that level would need complete tranny build up, new diff housing. Can the stock engine handle 350 whp ? I have heard of numerous 290-300 whp S2000's but isn't that about the limit before things start blowing up ?
