Just installed my Oem Hardtop yesterday very very simple took me about 30 mins to do. I have an 02 so i already have a rear defroster and, well i used the subharness and now my defroster light doesnt come on at all. I unplugged the hardtop harness and still nothing. I didnt get into using a test light or multimeter yet just wanted to see if anyone had an idea why it wasnt working. BTW i was talking to my GF while i was messing around with the car an she blurted out maybe its not working because your top is DOWN which shit makes a lot of sense. If this is the case what can i do? i would have to bypass something? any info would be appreciated thanx peace

 

did you connect the circular plug on the drivers side to chassis harness?

 

yea i connected the harness to the hardtop, chassis and the third plug as well. but weird thing is that even when i unplug the harness my defroster doesnt come on. i checked for fuses for defroster didnt see anything. i dont know maybe my light burned out? but like i was saying it kinda makes sense it wouldnt come on if the top was down.

 

From what I understand, there are two differant rear cathers. One works and the other does not. It depends when the HT installation kit was manufatured. Honda changed something in the way that switch.

Where did this hardtop come from? Was it new or used?

 

It was brand new from honda umm the 2nd harness they sent me didnt plug into my chassis harness so i didnt install it. I shouldnt have to run anything to my fuse box seeing i have an 02.

 

Nope, just the rear catcher and the small jumper harness. That is it.
