Default Just replaced AP1 EPS Torque Sensor with AP2

Hey guys,

As a lot of you with AP1 steering issues know, the AP1 torque sensor is no longer available from Honda. I purchased a new AP2 sensor and installed it today. After I did the re-learn procedure it works great! My issue is finally fixed after a few years of trying to sort it out.

Now, for the last remaining problem. My steering wheel is off center. The universal joint that connects the steering column to the torque sensor is splined and you can install it with the steering wheel off center. I was meticulous about how I installed it and have pulled it back apart and put it back together 3 times. I CAN'T GET IT STRAIGHT!

The closest that I had the wheel was probably 10 degrees off. Is that the closest that I can get it and the rest will have to be done via alignment?

What are you talking about when you say AP1 and AP2 are different? Do you mean the torque sensor?

Reading this kind of thread gets me thinking that I should start assembling a cash of spare parts. Some parts are available in the aftermarket, some parts are not. I don't what to have to scour junk yards for parts.

The part numbers are different but it works. I think the AP2 is just an improved version of the AP1.
