Default K&N Filter

I just got my K&N filter today. It is an OEM replacement model #E-2435. Does anyone else have one yet? If so, any noticable difference from stock?

Johnnyboy-

welcome to the board.

I'm not busting your balls, just pre-empting a strike, if you will. you will find that this board is really good and full of folks with a lot of knowledge about this car. it's just that many people don't like to cover the same topic over again. You will either not get responses or someone will bite your head off.

do a quick search for this query. i think you will find a lot of threads about this very subject. as i recall, i think some folks even had slightly worse performance with the K&N.

welcome again.

No offense taken.

I have seen some of the previous posts for K&N filters but none about this model. It is supposedly brand new...fresh from the R&D dept.

Yes, it is new for the car and they will sell some over time but K&N stalled with a 'next month' story for so long that alot of us have bought other washable filters. Another case of a manufacturer taking a market segment for granted and losing it.

Drop in would be accurate...it even has the little post on it. I got it from Martel Brothers. They and a few others are listed on K&N's web page as online resellers. It was $47.50 plus shipping.

I can't tell if there is a difference, but just knowing that I did something nice for my baby makes me happy.

Recommend JR Filter, works very well is high quality.

I was previously a fan of K&N but got dismayed with them over their apparent lack of interest in the S2000 over the past 1 1/2 years.

I still dont understand what u guys think is wrong with the K&N RE-180.
Was available ages ago...and Look dammit! It fits!
Air Box Cover also will rest fine on the filter. The "petruding bit" on the inside of the Air Box Roof needs to be trimmed down thats all. Easily home job that can be done with a pen knife.
Dyno result I remember of the power gain of this air filter is:
+3 peak HP
+2 lbs Torque
