Default K&N filters contaminating MAP sensor?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but search appears to be broken.
Can oil-covered reusable filters contaminate the MAP sensors on an S2000? I've heard of this happening with the hot-wire MAF sensors on older cars, but is this a valid concern on the S2000?
I like the idea of a reusable filter, especially in the hella dusty state of Arizona, but I'm not too thrilled about mucking up an expensive air sensor.

of course this can happen to anyone one of the sensors on your engine. follow the kn instruction and you will never have a problem. Having said that, many hondas run kn intakes and filters and have gone on to live long prosperous lives.

No, this will not happen (if you don't do anything stupid like over oil your filter).

k&n filters do cause a lot of problems on mass air cars and they can contaminate iat sensors on dbw vehicles. I mechanic for a living and i've seen numerous issues with the oiled filters. Do yourself a favor and get an aem dryflow or other non oiled filter, they flow better and never need oiling. Also, much easier to clean. Oiled filters are for dirt bikes and 4 wheelers not cars.

Since no S2k uses a hot wire MAF, not an issue.

That said, you don't need to be soaking a KN in oil to make it work.

AEM does not make a dryflow filter for the stock s2000 intake. emailed them a couple months ago. if you want a dry synthetic filter, aFe makes a Pro Dry S.

I use K&N on all my cars..never a problem.

I clean the filters as part of my 4k OCI.After cleaning I re-oil the filter with the KN spray can.I let it sit for about 10min to soak thru, then blot dry with a towel.

If I over spray it,I'll use the leaf blower for about 5 sec to blow out the excess.

If you spray the oil on the filter and rev the engine to suck it thru, you could possibly have a problem with the MAF,but I doubt it.

How exactly does the AFE oil-less reusable filter work exactly? The description on their site states:
"this high flow, oiled OE replacement performance filter will outflow stock paper filter for improved horsepower and torque"

Is it oil-less in that you don't have to add oil to the outside of it, yet there's still layers underneath which are pre-oiled from the factory?
