Default kia 4.77 gears?

I just bought a 01 s2k a couple of months ago and i'm wanting to put a 4.77 gear in it and have heard of people putting the kia gear in them. I wanted to know if anybody out there has done this and if so is it a direct fit, what all parts do I need, how do you like it, etc.. Sorry i'm new to the site and I know this has proubaly been posted before somewhere. Thanks.

Yeah its great. Id never go back, and it is a direct fit. Same company (mazda) make both our diff and the kia diff.

I'm running them and I LOVE them. The car drives so much nicer. 6 months so far and no issues whatsoever
