Default what is polydyn treatment?

I'm just curious what polydyn treatment is exactly. Are the richmond 4.57 gears treated? What does the treatment do?

Just to give you some idea of how well this works. I drove a new set of gears in the dry diff two miles at 50+mph. The gear was fine, only the pinion bearing were cooked.
