Hey everyone,

I just got my s2000 for almost a week now and installed the k&n fipk cold air intake last night. It was relatively straight forward and only things that caught me off guard for a second were drilling the hole and figuring out there was not an air injector pump. That being said, I noticed that I can really hear the induction noise in 2nd gear and beyond especially when on the throttle, but not so much when I'm putting it to the pedal in first gear. Is this normal and have any of you experienced this before? Thanks so much for your help and time guys!

 

This is just a guess, but could it be just less audible due to increased acceleration noise from first gear?

 

The pipe length is tuned perfectly for 2nd gear.

 

I have the FIPK installed and my throttle noise has become way more noticeable then the stock airbox. Its normal.

I also have a k&n fipk that I got from 4 wheel online. The sound is a bit loud but not annoyingly loud. It's a bit deep aggressive tone.

 

The primary reason to fit the FIPK is the induction noise!
