Default Knock sensor differences.

What are the differences here? Are the parts different freqs? Are the wiring pins on the backside of it different?

I would assume the blocks knock the same freqs, its the same casting and all. Just want to know because I'm putting an '09 block in my '05. I'm pretty sure I could just use my '05 sensor and be good to go.

2000 - 2005 uses part number (30530-PCX-003)
2006 - 2009 uses part number (30530-PRC-003)

I live in Guatemala, Central America, the dealer only had CR-V's sensor, and thats what i´m using. Just hope that nothing gets ruined in the long run. Maybe someone can help with your question.

I believe they are different spec. 06+ is a DBW system and I believe there were a lot of sensor changes on this ECU change.

Well, I know '06-'09 is DBW. Are you saying that because the ECU changed they would change the sensor? Are you thinking freqs wise or just the wiring pins/connector?

That could be, but I'm thinking they have to be the same freqs... the short blocks are 99% the same. (difference is the crank position wheel)

Hell, if one is more sensitive, I'd like to run that one for added safty. DO I even need to care if I'll be running a stand alone?

Really Joe? Hell, was yours turned off? How will it be able to sense for knock if there is no sensor... *mind blown*

I will be running EMS v2 and e85 when I get the engine put in the car.

I think they both detect knock, no more and no less than a different model.

I believe, if memory serves me there are different sensors be it connection or spec with the DBW system. Don't quote me on this but I would strongly advise sticking with the one that goes with your ecu.

Knock sensors have different freq ranges they are sensitve to. If you were to take one from a another engine, like a big V8, it would not work because the V8 will knock at a different freq and has been tuned from the factory to display knock when it hears those certain freqs.

Alos, the stock ecu plays no factor here. I will be using an AEM EMS v2.

I'm putting an '06-'09 short block in an '05. The only thing I can think of that would really change is the pins connectors for the wiring harness. The sensors have to detect the same freqs...

The ap2 motor is unchanged 04-09. So I would not expect different frequencies for 'knock' to be triggered. The only logical explanation is the ECU.
