Default Koyo Radiator installed

Just installed a Koyo radiator and used Teflon tape around the temperature sending unit on the bottom. I tried using new o-rings but they kept bunching up and sticking out at one area. I removed the o-ring and used Teflon tape and torqued the sensor to 17ftlbs and it seems to be working: just wondering if this would be a long term solution. Also is it ok for the drain plug to be just hand tightened?

Update: I drilled a small hole in the drain plug and one in the fan bracket and used wire for hanging pictures and a wire crimp. If the drain plug some how starts to back out, this should stop it.

Thanks

Install was very easy and took just a little over 2 gallons of antifreeze. As far as the bleed goes I burped as much as I could then added the rest of the antifreeze through the heater bypass outlet. I am going to drill a hole in the end of the drain plug and use safety wire to keep it from backing out. Good luck with your install.

The paste teflon sealer will last forever! The rad doesnt get that hot compared to turbos, and it lasts a long time on turbo fittings.

Thanks for the reply. I am not going to worry about the temperature sensor coming loose because that's torqued at 17ftlbs. I am uncomfortable about the drain plug backing out and I think safety wire will do the trick.

Thanks
