Thumbs down LE 1605..$42/quart?!

So my 'A 126' maintenance minder popped earlier today and I noticed the massive difference in cost of the LE 1605 per quart ($41.95 at Ricks2k) compared to Amsoil's 75w110 ($16.40 on their website). From a few other posts I've read it was roughly half the cost a while ago. Anyone know why it's become so expensive all of a sudden? I don't think it's 250% better than Amsoil...

Do A search for LE distributors in your area, got two quarts for around $40 shipped in Florida.

It went up a couple months ago....Rick emailed me back and said LE just raised they prices "mucho" . Probably the unrest in the middle east as always.

Two years ago, these were the prices:

1605 in 5-gal = $196.70

1605 in quarts (24) = $354.72

I decided to start buying the 5 gal pails instead of the quarts (no brainer). If you have more than one vehicle, you will use it (my Tundra takes a gallon all by itself). My sales rep hasn't mentioned a price increase, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Try Mag-Hytec. $18.75 a quart for LE #1605 Gear Lube. Plus shipping, of course.

IIRC I still have 1 unopened quart of the good-ol' LE-607.
That must be a collectors item by now.....
The bidding starts at $$?

J/K... not selling it.

I moved on to Amsoil. No regrets.

Thanks for the link! I just bought some amsoil but I'll probably stock up on the LE 1605 in case they decide to raise the price too.
