Default Leaking Top

Hello, first time posting so please bare with me. I purchase a S2K 01' about 2 weeks ago, it was used with 45K on it. I got for a really good deal so I wasn't too worried about the top leaking air when up. Well now its bothering me and i've been searching the forum and haven't found any threads on how to fix this problem if its fixable at all. I am just hoping that I dont have to replace the top to fix it. It leaks air on the driverside corner of the top, and when im on the freeway it gets pretty noisy. Is there some where on the top that I could make some adjustments to make it tighter b/c when I pull down on the front of the top when its up it seems to make it tight and no noise until it gets loose again. Any advise on this is greatly appreciated.

Daniel.

The top striker is probably worn. Look at the striker (the piece that the top hooks onto) and check for wear. I think there is a TSB on it. All you need to do is replace it with the newer hardtop strikers.

Thanks for the info, do you happen to know where I can get the stricker from?

Just go to your local dealer and have them look up the TSB and order the part. It' only about 30 or 40 bucks I think. I only replaced my drivers side and it's been find so far.

You may also want to lubricate the weather strips and seals. It keeps them pliable and fully shaped.

part 62 in the diagram

tell the dealer to look for the 2002 (updated) part in the "soft top frame" section.

or, order from here. it'll be cheaper.

they bolt right in, just take off the visors and pull the trim back a little. 2 bolts each.
