Awesome writeup. I don't get a wet smell after I wash my car.......yet.......but I'm still gonna pull up the carpet and check just to be sure.

Had a similar type problem with my car. Much more mild though.

Although it did not appear to leak when I did the same you did?

I'll keep my eye on it.

I removed all of the lining for weight purposes, I found essentially what you found, I need to spray it down I guess as the rust is starting in those two pockets

Awesome! I've had the exact same problem with my car. I had suspected it was the trunk vent all along but never knew how to get at it. It's nice to see someone was proactive about solving the problem.
