Default Left headlights on, car not starting

So I forgot to turn off my headlights, parked went inside.

Come back out in 3 hours, car won't start, had to open door manually with key.

When I turned the key and pressed the start button, nothing happened

tried to jump the car, now the dash lights come on but the car just keeps clicking, won't turn over, everything else works, lights, car unlocks with button etc.

I left it there for like 10 minutes connected to my other car with jumper cables, tried to start it again and it's the same, dash lights come on, and just clicks

Do i have to leave it there for longer since the batter is so small?

Really? just from that

It showed no signs of being a weak/struggling battery before this.

The donor car is running right? If not try starting it before turning yours over.

Did you hold the rpms up on the donor car? hold it at 3k and try it. Larger trucks and suvs usually work better also.

Another option is buy a trickle charger, its best to fully recharge a battery after its been run down.

Try another car with a larger battery/alternator?

Our cars seem to need more power to start vs other 4bangers (because of the higher compression?)

What kind of battery it is ?, some types of batteries like AGM's don't recover well once they are allowed to fully discharge and they require a different procedure to bring them back to life.
