Left headlights on, car not starting
Buy a decent battery charger, not just a minder. One that has at least two charging positions (2amp-10amp) and a "starting" (50 amp) option. You will need it in life. I use mine all the time and it has lasted decades. I have a Schumacher (USA) 1052A-PE, slow-fast charge, starting, complete shutoff, spark proof, and reverse polarity protection. Solid state.
Give the battery a full charge. You may have to jump the dead battery a while (no starting) with a good battery. This is to force a charge in the dead battery so that the charger will "see" something hooked up to allow charging power to flow. If the voltage is too low, it will not charge.
Completely draining the battery will reduce life of a lead acid battery. If your battery was older (5 years) you may have put the last nail in the coffin. In any event, after something like this, you would normally want to recharge it immediately to reduce the plates degrading and shorting.
