Default Left someone in a cloud of smoke tonight

Hmmm, anyone have this happen -- and is it a cause for alarm:

I think I now know where the hell all my oil is going. Going on a nice long onramp tonight I ran first up to about 5K, then let 2nd unwind all the way to redline before picking a more sane gear to merge on the freeway. I don't usually have the chance to unwind the car often.

I glance in the rearview mirror and there's a huge-ass trail of smoke behind me. Like something from Spyhunter... Not white - at least dirty grey. It cut off around when I shifted to 3rd and dropped out of VTEC. It's hard to tell at night. I know the car burns oil in VTEC, but holy crap!

Car runs fine other than having to add a quart of oil this past Friday. That's two quarts minimum in 3000 miles.

It's soot from the exhaust system, and the car runs rich in VTEC, Its not oil burning. It's also normal.

Try it in the daylight when you can see.

I've seen plenty of Honda's do this on the street and track.
