Default Let's talk about 4,57 - 4,56 final drive

Hi guys

I read a lot on the subjet.

Richmond gear used to produce the 4,57 then the 4,57R. Those were known for beeing loud.

Then they came up with the 4,56 which was quieter.

Those gears have been a limited production and have been discontinued since many years.

Now back in 2010.

I found that two companies are making the 4,57. MFactory and another company name Gear-X for sale on eBay.

Any coments/info on those gears ? Haven't read anything about those products from both company. Are those gears making a loud noise coming from the diff like the Richmond 4,57 used too ?

Or any other suggestions of compagnies who makes a great 4,56-4,57 fd gears ?

For sure I would prefer to buy a 4,56 FD from Richmond Gear if someone still have some, even in second hand. That would be a sure shot.

Thanks a lot guys

I bought a set from a German company that is making the 4.57, The gear set will be here in about a week or so.
I am going to install them and run them in my car to see how they perform. If the gears perform well and are high quality then, I will let you guys know that the 4.57 can be bought new once again

Yes, 7/32 I will post a contact up for the gears once I do some testing to be sure they are of a good quality to recommend.

I will post pics of the install and if I can, an in car video so everyone can here any whine they may or may not make.

So far the company has been friendly and nice to deal with. Customer service has been good as well as communication

Hi again guys

I'm ready now to upgrade my diff.

I think i'm gonna go with a 4.44 ring/pinion. I really want a quiet diff, and finding a 4,56 gear set from Richmond gear seems almost impossible, and the difference is so small.

So I'd like some feedback on different companies that produce the 4,44 fd and where I can buy those, and even the 4,56 if someone know where to find it.

Found 4 places. The first 2 also produce the 4,57.
