Thanks. Just to add, in rural areas of germany it is more common for people to have a (big) garage. Every farmer owns his own big garage / sheed like yours, where he maintian his vehicles, also his cars.
If you dont own one by yourself, the change that you could rent one is much higher there. Or find some old little factory shed for rent or so. But most people dont do work on their cars. They bring it to the dealership.
But i live in a very dense populated big city, where appertments and even garages are in high demand. Here are some "Hobby DIY shops" where you can rent tools and a lift and work on your car. They are allways crowded.

I have a set of drive-on ramps, they are two-piece design and made of a composite material, rated for 16,000 lbs which is amazing, and they are really light weight. They feature a low-rise removable ramp, the main resting part of the cradle lifts the car about 8.5 inches, and is super safe,. I like that the rear ramp is removable so you can access under the side of the car. Relatively inexpensive, I only find them at Canadian Tire, I haven't seen much that is comparable from US suppliers. I wish I had these years ago, so easy to get up and down and not much is safer. If you had two sets of these you could have the entire car up on the cradle sections at 4 corneres, and the car would be up almost 9 inches.

Interesting... Like these? (these are only about 6 1/2 " high though)
I'm thinking these would not work for picking up all 4 corners though as they would not fit under the side of the car for the back tires to go up on.

yeah mine are very similar, but the ramp portion of mine is longer and a lower slope - low rise for lower cars. I would put the fronts up, then use a jack under the rear center lift point of the car and you can slide the cradles under both rear wheels without the sloped portion, then all four wheels would be elevated.

Here's another vote for the quickjack. Before I got a portable two post lift, it was the best lifting solution I had used. If you can tolerate the cost (they have become pricey in the last couple years), and you need the additional lift height, the portable two post lift is amazing, and almost as fast to set up at the quick jack.

But that is a permanent addition to the garage, and I use my garage for a lot of different stuff and dont want it there all the time. I would love the extra height though!!!!

The portable two posts can easily be moved. I have the triumph c7000 made in china unit. Interestingly, it has identical pump parts as the maxjax unit one of my close friends has. The only things permanent are the concrete anchors. I counter sunk them a little so when I move I can patch over them and so it'll be smooth concrete. I can move the posts with a handtruck to the side of the garage in less than 5 minutes.

Lifting on a two post is slightly more setup than the quickjack. With the quickjack it doesn't matter where the car is, the quickjack can slide under it. A two post requires you to place your car in the right posittion. You figure it out after a few attempts, but itis a difference to note.

Nice but like I said I tracked down a used quick jack for $1000, price cant be beat. Going to go look at it this weekend.

I have 2 jacks. One low profile aluminum "racing" jack from harbor freight, and one low profile steel daytona jack from harbor freight. I use them both for various jobs. I also got some beefy 6 ton jack stands that have a steel locking pin that you can slide in them as a redundant locking mechanism. They also go up really high to give me plenty of room to work under the car.

The quick jack looks nice, but it looks like it would get in the way for a lot of jobs.
