Ok, some quick Quickjack questions, No I have not tried them as of yet, one of these days I'm going to put my car up just for practice! Anyway, been reading the manual and a couple things it says.
1) is to have the power unit elevated about 18 inches above the floor.. does anyone do this?
2) It says to make sure you lift the car at its factory listed lifting points, but then two paragraphs later it says to never work under a car that is not supported by properly rated jack stands under the factory recommended lift points???? Do you people use jackstands when you use these Quickjacks? Or just work under the car with the Quickjacks in place? Obviously you cannot place the jack stands and the Quickjack both under the lift points! So do you forgo jackstands or put them somewhere else? (All this seems odd to me)
Thanks

1) I have always left the hydraulic unit on the ground. No issues. Make sure the vent is open when you are using it or it may damage the unit.

2) In that paragraph I beleive the Quickjacks are the properly rated jackstands they are referencing. Seems more of a disclaimer to always lift at the prescribed jacking points.

Also remember, the Quickjack only uses the hydraulics to raise and lower the car. When you are working on the car the load is supported on the frame stops.

I will add that I recently installed a roll bar in my car which requires removing the rear wheels to access the wheel well. While the car was jacked up I went in and out of it a hundred times. Not sure I would have wanted to do that on regular jackstands.

Thanks, also ... use the standard blocks with this or do I need a set of the pinch blocks?

I just used the regular blocks. Avoid stacking the blocks if possible, it will be more stable. I will also have jack stands under the vehicle if I am under the vehicle, just an insurance policy. Here's a few pictures of the jack being used on the C2S and LS460.

C2S on Quickjack

C2S Spark plugs replacement

LS460 Trans. fluid drain/fill.

Remember to be aware of the swing up and back/or forward that the car will follow with a lift. In other words, watch out that you don't lift your car back into your garage door...ask me how I know

Also, don't forget to keep the 'DOWN' button depressed for 5 seconds before disconnecting the hydraulic lines.

As mentioned above, don't forget to open the bleed valve when lifting or lowering.

I love my quick jack.

The gold ring is a towing hook. You have one in the tool tray in the trunk but it's just plain steel. All the kool kids get them in contrasting colors (sometimes as straps) and leave them in the bumper. You're lacking 2 kool points now.
