Default A light on the dash

The maintnence light came up on my S, flashing while I am driving so I took it to the dealership and got an oil change. Now I dont remember how it was but the maintenence light flashes excatly 5 times after the beeps are done, right before I start the car. Is that normal?

Yep and it's in the owner's manual. It starts flashing at startup before the normally scheduled maintenance is due (measured in miles). It comes on solid at the time the mileage threshold has been surpassed. It's only an indicator to remind you to perform regualr maintenance - you can ignore/reset it as you wish.

Your dealer should have reset the light when they did the oil change. No biggie. You can do it yourself:

Andy indicated his light initiated, THEN he took it to the dealer for an oil change.
(Or am I missing something?)

Most dealers don't reset the light without performing a "service". Depending on the Dealer, Oil changes are not considered the 7500 mile service.

Guys its not flashing all the time, it flashes 5 times right before I start the car thene goes away and never comes back. It doesnt come on when I am driving or anything. You know you hear it beep, beep, beep, beep, beep and add 5 flashes. So I never paid attention if it didit flas that many times before it came on couple weeks ago.

The maintenance light *never* causes a beep but putting the key in with the door open will. The flashes don't change frequency, either - once they start, it will always be the same number until it goes on solid.

In any event, it's just a mileage monitor to remind you to perform the maintenance schedule listed in the owner's manual.
