A light on the dash
I do know what the maintenence light means. I also know it does not cause beeps.
Also it does not go solid on my car.
Right before you start your car, your battery light comes on right? also probably abs and srs lights too, the car doing its routine check, the same way it checks the speedometer.
Now all I want to know is how many times does your maintenence light flashes before it shuts off. I did not count mine total, but I know its 5 times right after the key in the hole beeps. If somebody can count his/hers and tell me it will be greatly appriciated.
Thank you.

I went out and checked, just to be anal. That light does NOT blink unless you're near the end of the 7500 mile maintenance period. I just reset mine so I can't say how many times it was blinking. 5 sounds right.
If you know all this and your question is simply about the number of blinks, why? Does it matter?

That light is simply a mileage counter. At a certain point since the last reset, it will blink upon startup. A few more miles later, it will stay on all the time till reset again. If you haven't guessed ............. It's NON-CRITICAL! It's Honda's attempt to try and get all their customers to come in and hand over a big bag of money.
