Default Lighting up your S2k

With the following:

Sparco Pro 2000 Seats (2)
Lightweight Battery
Carbon Fiber Hood
Titanium Exhaust
Intake
Header
Volk TE-37 Wheels
Coilover Suspension

Possible to get the car around 2500 pounds ?

Any other suggestions for lightweight modification ?

Thanks guys

don't bother with the hood, it'll weigh only a pound or two less than the stock one
where you'll save a lot of weight is in the exhaust, and i doubt you will be able to shave it to 2500 without stripping it; carbon fiber hardtop and removal of the soft top and mechanism, and associated hardware, might save you a bit too. there is a lot of weight inherent in the structure of this car, which gives it the wonderful rigidity and allows it to have the dynamics that it has; you can't remove that weight without compromising the basic dynamics, so you're better off doing the wheels, exhaust, C/F seats, and the hardtop. but then it's not a roadster anymore, is it? It's up to you, be wary that some things will not save enough weight to be cost effective...

One thing I dont really understand is that in 2004, when there supposedly releasing a coupe version of the S2000, shouldn't it weight less then the current convertible version ?

Take the Nissan 350Z for example......the convertible weighs around 150 pounds more

So wouldn't the coupe version of the S2k weigh less then the convertible version ?

Convertibles weigh more than coupes because there is a lot of internal bracing and reinforcing they have to do to the body since there is no roof structure to help out.

Amuse dry carbon hood is 6.1kg lighter than stock.

The Amuse trunk is 5.3kg lighter than stock and the Amuse hardtop is 13kg, 13kg less than the softtop mechanism.

Amuse header is 6.6kg lighter than stock and the R1 is 19kg lighter than stock.

Zeal Superfunction is a good damper that is high performance and light with lightweight Swift springs.

Both the Mugen air box and 4IG intake should save you about 2kgs.

If you want lightweight wheels, why not get 16" wheels like the SW388 which are about 5kg lighter each? and then you can run the Spoon calipers which are about 2kg less than stock each.

Light weight battery is good, and you can consider removing the air bags and AC etc.

Weight reduction is obviously very expensive, but is also a highly-effective way of improving the car's overall performance. It's hard to remove weight effectively is all you're doing is switching to lightweight mods though.

Intead of the Sparco Pro 2000 Seats go with the Sparco REV C they weigh 9.8 lbs each

It looks like Bulletproof is going to be carrying some carbon fiber doors too that say will save 22lbs

Get some Ricks pullys save 1lb
Toda Flywheel save like 2lbs +

Spoon rims weigh 12.94 save about 19.24lbs~

This is due, in part, to the added body stiffening that most convertibles need. Plus, you have all the soft top mechanisms and motors and solenoids and control devices on the power ones.
But mostly it's the body re-inforcements.
