But then why do most convertible versions of other cars weigh more then the couope versions ?
Because the coupes are nearly always designed first. The convertible version is always an afterthought. When manufacturers then build a convertible version they have to add tons of stiffening to make up for the missing roof. Since the S2000 has all the stiffening already built in, it is VERY unlikely that Honda would go through the trouble of redesigning the frame for the sake of a coupe version. They will just add a roof and some sound deadening material and, TADA! The S2000 coupe is born but it won't weigh any less. (more probably)

I already did understand why convertibles weigh more then coupe versions........but listening everyone saying that the s2k coupe would weigh a lot more..........


I personally think the coupe might weigh a touch under 2800 pounds...........but well see

I was expecting either neon or a grow room...

Making my S2k lighter was easy....I quit eatng big macs .....oh yea and i took the spare tire and jack out too. (thats a bunch of weight)

Regarding Big Macs, a lighter driver sure can make a difference in karts!
