I removed my valve cover to paint it and i think i might have shifted the cam angles because my check engine light is on and car wont go past 3k rpms. Any links on how to “reset” my valves or cams not sure the correct words to use

You can't "shift the cam angles" by just removing the valve cover. Are you sure that you reconnected everything on the valve cover? There's a sensor to allow the ECU to work properly that "senses" TDC (Top Dead Center). I believe that AP1's have 2 of these sensors and the AP2 has 1 (someone correct me on the AP1 if that's not the case). I own an AP2 and the TDC sensor is at the back of the valve cover.

Both sensors are connected. I figured when removing it i mightve hit one becuase it was a slight struggle lifting the back of the cover off. I have an 04. One sensor on the left and one on the back right behind the oil cap
