My 07 AP2 recently went into limp mode -on the fwy- a few seconds after my front wheel hit a large pothole. The car would cut throttle at 4.5k rpm. Is it possible to go into limp mode just front stricking a pothole?

After I arrived home, I reset the ecu by unplugging the battery. The check engine light turned off and the car went back to normal. I drove the car, at length, the following day and everything is working fine again.
