Default Lock screw torque/lsd end play?

Like it says in question. I have searched everywhere, gotten the service manual from honda and it says no where. So anyone who has tore apart a diff on an ap1 what have you tourqed the lock screws that seat the lsd tapered bearings to. I imagine there has to be a torque measurement to properly pre load the bearings. Or if for some reason there is not there at least has to be a proper amount of end play (side to side) of the lsd itself. That is the only part left unanswered is proper torque/end play for the lsd/bearings. So to all of the diff gurus any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

So I'm either guessing people are unsure. Mad at the way I worded things. Or just hate me. Come on any help would be awesome.

Good morning and Merry Christmas

There is no torque setting for the adjuster(spanners) screws. These adjusters are to set the backlash for the ring and pinion as well as preload on the carrier bearings. You want the adjusters to be fairly snug (not real tight)but still retain proper backlash for the ring and pinion.

Good luck

Thank you for the reply and again sorry for me asking in question again. But we are positive there is no torque or end play? It just baffles me if not. And snug to me may be too tight or too loose to someone with more knowledge. Have you ever put one back together and if so did you not measure the carriers/lsd with anything? And if there is no set torque for sure I can kind of under stand that. But if I was to use a dial indicator just to make sure that the side to side movement isn't excessive what would you recommend. NORMALLY when at my job (disel tech) only thing a dial indicator is used for is after the proper torquing procedure when replacing bearings and races in the hub of a tractor or trl the wheel end play has to be within 1-5 thousands of in and out play (push and pull of the wheel hub itself no rotational play) in my mind I think 1 thousand of an inch would be good but I'm guessing. I just want to be sure, I'm trying to be as thorough as possible I tend to over analyze everything. Thanks in advance.

No problem, I am not so full of my self lol. Backlash setting (distance between the ring and pinion) should be around .003 to .003.5 range....it can be a bit less or more but that is your sweet spot.
I have your PM and will respond to it as well
