Looking for Info about Mugen Cooling Mods
Hey guys, I'm looking to get the Mugen cooling mods that I've been hearing about. What exactaly do I need to get? From the search it appears that I should look to get the Thermostat and the Fan Switch, is there anything else I should consider? Are there any negatives to putting these parts on? What anti-freeze / water ratio should I use (I live in hot and sunny S. FL). And one more question, can anyone post a link of where to order them?
Thanks
Thanks
Hondata Heatshield Gasket will complement the Mugen fanswitch and thermostat. You would need to replace two washers and the collant. I would use the Honda Premix Coolant here are the sites:
www.hparts.com (washers)
www.kingmotorsports.com (fanswitch, thermostat)
www.hondata.com (heatshield gasket)

king seemed to have the cheapest prices on the mugen. They are also a board sponsor.
Without the radiator cap, the switch and the stat really won't do much.
the cap raised the pressure in the system which increases the boiling point of your fluid.
the switch/stat combo turn on the fan at a lower operating temperature.
the best combo maybe the spoon rad cap and the mugen switch/stat
spoon's cap is set at a slightly higher operating pressure than the mugen. their switch/stat is also set to run at a slightly lower temp.
IMHO, the spoon switch/stat operates too cold. Many owners find that their s2000 hovers between 2-3 bars with the spoon. I also feel the spoon did this solely to one-up mugen on these stats.
