Looking for a scan of the Banjo Bolt TSB
 

Does anyone have a scan of the Banjo Bolt TSB (In English)? I want to show my mechanic because he has never heard about it and he is curious. Right now he is performing a short block replacement on my car (2003). The suspect right now is Piston/Ring/Cylinder Problem. More will be known tomorrow.

And yes I tried searching for an hour tonight and could not find it, so I would appreciate someone's assistance.

The "Oil jet bolt TSB" was never a TSB in the US. It was only in Europe. The oil jet bolts changed in 02, so your 03 will have the updated bolts. All replacement Honda shortblocks come with the new bolts as well.

yes, I know it does not apply to the US. My mechanic was still hoping to see it because he has never seen or heard about it and wondered if it had something to do with my problems.

Honda recognizes three markets for the S2000:
JDM-Japaneese Domestic Market
North America- Canada,U.S. S.A
Europe/Oceania- Eurpoe and Australia

The noted bulletin was Europe/Oceania only. The problem was specific to a certain block of cars....and yours was definitely not one of them.

All the 03's will have the new oil jet bolts.

Engine #1025386 and above in MY2002, has the new style banjo bolts. Anything slows2k says you can take straight to the bank, don't fear :) I just finished taking the pan off #1023992, and #4 cyl is scored to hell....

Several changes were made to the cylinder block,crankshaft,piston rings in the 00-03 S2000 replacement engine. Before you order a replacement cylinder block, crankshaft,piston, or piston rings, check the engine number on the car your working on. If you see the engine number listed here, the car has it's original engine or replacement engine.

original engine numbers from:

2000: F20C1-1000001
2001: F20C1-1010001
2002: F20C1-1020001
2003: F20C1-1040001

replacement engine numbers from:

2000: F20C1-0100001
2000-01: F20C1-0110001
2000-02: F20C1-0102001
2000-03: F20C1-0104001

Like billman250 said we have not seen or heard of any motor past MY02 having scored any cylinder walls. But the night is still young. Run anything low on oil it can happen. Just remember that if you have the old numbers doesn't mean your car should be ran down to the Honda dealer to have it checked, but if you want to know if your car has a replacement engine and you bought it used now you will know if it was sold to you with the original motor or not.This also doen't mean that if your car has the earlier numbers that if you blow it up Honda will pay for a new one. They have really tighten there belts on this cause they know what we do to these lovaly cars.

I didn't say that :) There are infact newer motors with cyl issues as well....

thats why I said run them low on oil and anything can happen. I've built alot of high compression vtec motors and they all use oil when you beat on them. just finished a 12.1 typeR motor stage 3cams. Guy picked it up tonight and told him tune it right away run it rich and wash the cylinders and it wil really use oil.
