I'm still here, just not posting anything technical. The actual graph comparing the redyno'd press car (with another ECU) and Backcracker's car is up at TOV. Enjoy!

Uhhhh... I was just wondering about the screen pics?? Are you sure its WHP or Flywheel HP? The screen says Flywheel. Or is that just the title of the screen the Dyno place made??

Its whp. There have been posts about this before. The Dynapack software puts that up there. It allows you to enter a correction factor (see the little thing called "TCF" at the bottom). As long as that number is 1.0, then the numbers you see are at the wheels, or hubs, in this case.

Oh... But wouldn't that then translate to 300+ HP (assuming ~ 25% Drivetrain loss) at the fly? And isn't it usual that the claimed HP by the company is at the fly? I'm not trying ot be a thorn or anything but to anyone that seems like a but too much HP for a car that supposed to only runs low 14's. This is just my opinion and I probaly will get flamed for this. I know some car companies "under rate" the HP. I'm grabbing my asbestos suit on now...

you cannot just throw out numbers like that, lets remember each type of dyno gives different figures.
does anyone here know, or care, what type of dyno was used to get the manufacturer claimed 240 HP ??
all that matters is the same dyno, same conditions/day are used for comparison purposes. one car does not make a trend, but when you see several and start averaging things out, patterns become apparent.
it is like the other thread with the guy claiming 50+ HP with ITB. oh, by the way, we also changed a bunch of other stuff like ecu, exhaust, plugs, etc, but it is the ITB that gives all the power.... ok, that is gonna make me run out and buy the ITB.
my own impressions of my new '04 are sorta jaded since I am going from an SC '00 to a stock '04. will be at a mini-meet this weekend and can let others there drive it to get their impressions as well, but a lot of them are not stock either.
this higher number is also a little of a curse, it means other mods that help earlier models will have less effect here, for instance, using a VAFC. i do not recall exact numbers, but the '00 -'01 models were seeing higher gains than the '02-'03, which we sort of tracked down to the '02-'03 having a different CPU with a little more aggresive timing and fuel map. if part of the '04 gains were tweaked in the ECU, the VAFC may now get even less of a gain.
