Default Low oil

Hey guys,

I just checked my oil and it's down to the last "x" before the "fill" line. My car has 1100 miles on it and hasn't had the oil changed.

Can I put any 10w-30 non-synthetic in it or should I drop by Honda and get their oil? What sort of oil should I put in it and how much?

Thanks,

Robin.

Any dino oil is fine.

Honda's fill oil is Mobil. I bought a 5 quart jug 'o Mobil oil from K-mart for $4. There is about 1 quart in the jug left, and my car doesnt consume oil anymore.

Each 'X' represents 1/5 (0.2) quart, 1qt total Min to Max.

Thanks guys, that's exactly the info I needed. I'll be off to K-mart by the time you read this.

I've hit 9000+ rpms lots of times and I've AutoX'ed at least 15 runs. My first AutoX was at about 615 miles. Pretty much any time I've taken her past 6 grand, I figure I might as well take her to 9. Otherwise she's not that fast, honestly. I've even hit the rev limiter a couple of times. She really seems like she could rev much higher, and I'm used to my GSX-R600.

I'm a little disappointed at the oil consumption, but I can't say I'm surprised. But then again, that was actually the first time I've checked my oil, so it may have been underfilled in the first place, for all I know.

The convention wisdom on this board is that many F20C engines burn less oil after 5,000 miles or so.

I know my '93 VTEC Prelude almost never burns oil around town. As soon as I take it four hundred miles at high revs, I can count on adding a quart.

My S2000 doesn't consume oil. The engine only has 3,000 miles on the odometer.

You should top it up. Keep that oil level at the top mark at all times. It dont hurt...
