Default lower ball joint rubber bushing

What happens if you pop that rubber bushing filled with grease on your lower control arm? I accidently popped mines while trying to take out the front suspension....

You may be able to replace the boot only, if Honda sells them seperately. If you drive the car with the boot split, dirt will contaminate the ball joint and cause it to wear. Slack will develop between the knuckle and lower arm.

a worn ball joint can break in extreme cases. Unpredictable handling, uneven tire wear, Etc. Etc.

Did you unbolt the lower ball joint from the knuckle? This is usually pretty safe for the boot, low risk of splitting it.
