How to remove and install the ECU

Default How to remove and install the ECU

Can anyone give me a quick how-to on swapping the ECU?

you have to take it to a honda dealer to get them to re-key your keys to match the new ECU being put into your car. unless you have like a spoon ecu or something where there is no immobolizer. just bring your new ecu, your car, and all your keys to honda and have the VIN# for the new ecu incase they need it and they will do it for around $150. takes like an hour... i've swapped ecu's 3 times now

Well I wasn't 100% clear when I made my appointment if they will install the new ECU and reprogram the immobilizer. Maybe I should call back. They told me it was $115. So I am hoping they'll install the ECU for me.

when i went to my honda dealor i took it out myself and brang it all to them why i was there, some honda dealors might be dicks and have them do it for you, and charge you more.
