Default Lower ball joints

I am looking to get my lower ball joints replaced. For other Honda repairs, I find I am better off ordering the parts myself from a Honda dealer and then just passing for labor. Does someone have the service manual for an 07 that can kindly list the parts needed? Thanks. (Much easier find for brake pads or other random fixes)

Bernardiparts.com
Hondaautomotiveparts.com
Etc.

I would definitely buy them from a Honda dealer or buy used low mile Honda parts. The front joints bolt on (easy). The rears press in (you need a press).

Are you sure your lower joints are worn out? Why so quickly? Unless you have like 150k miles or more on your 07?

You still need a press, just not to take it off the knuckle a ball joint press kit will certainly work as well. And this way you don't have to pull the arm out. You will need an alignment afterwards.

In my experience with lower ball joints, I would find a local shop with a press and pay them a small fee to save you hours of aggravation with a ball joint tool if you do not have a press or have not done this before.

I spent HOURS on two lower ball joints on my CRV until the ball joint tool actually broke. Found a local auto parts/machine shop that pressed out the old and pressed in the new one for $10 a side.

I will definitely buy Honda. But you can order from a Honda dealer online for 40% or more savings. Then find a local mechanic. But I need to know the parts to order. Is it just one piece or do you replace multiple parts at once?

Front lower doesnt need a press. Only the front upper. Lower is just two bolts, super easy.

Ok two bolts that hold it on the knuckle and then when you want to take the joint off the control arm?

If your ball joint service kit broke, it might have been inferior material. I have a $140 set that I've used countless times, it's essentially paid for itself four times over. I used it to replace more than just ball joints, it also did all the bushings on my car, and another two.

*You still need to pop the ball joint, and it's a little too big for most ball joint separators, including my $120 hydraulic one. Although if you're replacing it, I guess the hammer method, or a pickle fork would do it.

You don't need a press to remove a ball joint from the lower arm.

You need either a ball joint seperator, or a big hammer, or a pickle fork (since he's not re-using the joints).

Using a hammer does not make the joint un-useable...unless you're hitting the actual ball joint stud like a donkey. You hit the LCA with the hammer whilst using a jack to lift the knuckle.

Ball joint pullers/seperators are not a press. They cost $10-20.

A press is needed to install the REAR joint into the knuckle. The fronts bolt onto the knuckle.

?? The sites I listed are discounted honda dealer sites.

You will find diagrams with part numbers. You need ball joints. I would also order the castle nuts, new cooter pins (though you can buy those anywhere), and new bolts for the front joints if yours are rusted.

I couldn't get my fancy BJS even on it's widest setting to pop the lower balljoint off the arm. I was taking the arms out anyway so I just used a press to get them off. It's a pretty hefty ball joint.
