So what is better for racing, 4.56 or 4.57? Will i need the yellow box with either of those or just the 57.

You will need a yellow box if you change to anything other than the stock gear ratio.

I don't think the 4.57 are better comment was serious. The difference between those two ratios is almost nothing.

For street driving personally I think 4.77 would be better for the ap1 and 4.56/7 for the ap2. Although the ap1 would still have a higher top speed. It also depends on what type of racing you are planning on doing.

So what type of racing will you be doing?

If you are drag racing then drop the stock gears and don't look back.

But road racing you might find that the stock gears are fine because you might find 3rd gear at 60mph and 6000 rpm is much better than close to 7500 rpms with 4.57 gears and needing to shift sooner (figures based on a stock ap2 and a stock ap2 with 4.57 gears).

Richmond 4.56's do not whine IIRC, their 4.57's do, trust me
The 4.56 whine less than the 4.57...but they still whine a good bit. At least mine do. Still a great mod though...
