Default lubing the release fork

Hey guys,
I need to lube the "Y" end of the release for this weekend. Was wondering what you guys used to reached it, since it's impossible to reach. Thanks, and how did it feel like after you were done for those who've done it (stickiness gone?).

I just pulled the fork out as much as I could, then put the slave cylinder side of the fork leftmost to make a diagonal orientation. Then I jammed my middle finger in there and lubed it up. If you don't have skinny long fingers, get your gf to do it. Or you can use a q-tip.

I don't know if this cured my sticky clutch feel yet though, I haven't driven on it yet. Will report tomorrow.

Well guys, I'm happy to report that lubing Y side tips of the release fork cured my sticky pedal problem. When I installed my clutch, I did grease the inside of the throwout bearing, so I was wondering why it was still sticky.

I'm glad I don't have to pull the tranny!

I have the sticky pedal myself, so that's the first thing I'll be taking care of tomorrow. Quick question, do you put a generous amount or just enough to barely grease it.

what type of grease did you use? i used anti-seize on the back of the release bearing when i install the clutch but didn't put any on the release fork. i think i'm going to use high temp grease for brakes.

i put a good dab on my fingertips and smeared it around, no big chunks of grease or anything, but an even thin coverage.

i used Honda Super Urea Grease. you can pick it up at any honda/acura dealership.

really good stuff. 15ish dollars but it has many uses if you plan on working on your car in the future.

Well, just got done lubing the release fork. When I put a flashlight throw the opening, the main pivot/lube points were dry and even rusted. Now no more stickiness and the clutch feels much smoother, like how it was meant to be.
