Default Lubricate all hinges, locks etc.

Helms says:

Lubricate all hinges, latches, locks at least once a year. In corrosive areas, more frequent lubrication is necessary. We recommend Honda white lithium grease.

Any of you guys follow this?

and is it necessary?

Thanks

I did this a few months ago. I keep mine garaged and don't drive in the rain. If you aren't able to shelter your car from the elements, then follow the recommendation. It's very easy to do, and takes about a minute to hit them all.

Yep. There's a company called ZAP that makes a really good spray grease. It gets thick in a couple of minutes. I use it about once a year on all the lighter duty pivots and sliders.

He may have meant Zep Aerolube rather than Zap.

Any autoparts store sells lithium grease in an aerosol can.
