I just purchased some used Volk ce28 wheels. If I buy new lug nuts, what are the specs I need to use? I'm clueless on this but I know it is easy to screw it up. I want to make sure I get the right thing. My car is 02 s2k.

I like the Evasive motorsports lugs, steel, reasonable price and buying from a vendor here. Dont forget a socket with a protective sleeve over it to protect the rims

Most aftermarket lug nuts are ~60degree cone seat...which is what you want.

A 17mm drive is nice. Because 17mm sockets are not a special key....and they will be small enough to be less likely to scratch your wheel lug bores.

For the sake of the threads, I prefer steel lug nuts. I also prefer closed end...though I am using open end right now.

I use Muteki SR35 or 45. They look decent and they hold up well...including the finish.

They just came out with a "R" version, which is nice in that it has a seat which does not turn with the lugnut body. This prevents galling the lug seats on the wheels....which....really isn't an issue unless you're removing the wheels several times a day like you would on a race car. *Technically*, with a floating seat, you should turn down the torque a bit...but I think you'll still be safe at 80LB-FT.

I have had a number of different popular lugs. I haven't found any that I really like. So I will tell you the pros and cons imo of each.

Project Kics Neochrome - Pros: I liked the washer on the end. It caused less damage to the wheel socket (key is less damage). Cons: Open ended let the stud rust so when water got in there it was a mess to clean.
There are newer versions of these with a cap on the end. This may solve the rust issue. I haven't tried them yet.
Rays Duralumin - Pros: These looked great. They were really light. Cons: aluminum lugs are really soft. You have to be really careful when tightening them down.
Muteki Steel lugs - Pros: Cheap Cons: rusted pretty quickly
Gorilla Tuner lugs - Pros: I liked the really thin socket to avoid scratching your wheels. Cons: started to rust pretty quick.

Im a big fan of my 949 racing lugs: Black Forged Alloy Lug Nuts WAY lighter than steel too.

get the size mentioned above and conical. stock AP1 lug nut head looks like mushroom and that should be used since wheels are fitted perfect to hub. Hence centering ring is not needed. with aftermarket wheels such as volk, conical should be used. And get a decent brand. Had an experience that bad lug nut broke my stud.

I have Rays duralugs. While they are aluminum, I have taken them on and off with an impact gun over 100 times over the years. They have been as indestructible as the CE28 itself. Not even a hint of thread deformation.

The colored ones can fade, but the black and silver are solid choices.
