Default Main't Req light flashing!?

On my way to work this morning, I turn my MY00 s2000 on and the maintenance required light was blinking... I've never seen this happen on either of my S2ks.. what does this typically mean? Shouldnt be catastrophic if its not check engine right?? please lend me your experience people!?

if its flashing it means you are going to need an oil change/scheduled maintenance soon and when it stays on it means its due now check your owners manual for recommend service for your mileage.

Essentially it's just a "idiot light" for a typical owner that doesn't understand anything about cars, so that light reminds them to take it in to the dealership or where ever they choose.

As long as you've been keeping with regular maintance it's nothing to worry about, just reset it and away you go.

1. With the engine OFF and key OFF. hold down the trip button and turn the key to the ON position.

2. Continue to hold until the light goes out.

3. Turn the key to the OFF position.

4. Turn the key back to the ON and the light should not be on any more

1) put key in
2) hold down "Trip" button
3) while still holding the button, turn the key over
4) after 15-20 secs, you'll see the light flash then disappear.
