Default yikes! maintenance required light is on!

it came on at around the 7460 mile mark on the odometer. any chance this is informing me of a scheduled 7500 mile maintenance check? any other way of determining what it might be referring to without taking it in?

it is not a loose gas cap.

Yikes, if it's not check engine light than just reset the maintenance light and forget about it for another 6-7k miles.

MIL just reminder light comes on with mileage not related to any problem, but if you have check engine light... Now that's different story.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but check out page 49 of your owner's manual and it will answer all of your questions. This is just an indicator to change your oil and comes on every 7500 miles. The manual even tells you how to reset it.

thanx folks. the light came on during my trip to work this am so i did not have a chance to refer to manual. i get oil changed every 3k, so the 7500 reminder is moot.

Yikes. Yea but if you had read the owners manual when you got the car, like you should have, all this wouldn't be shocking news to you.

I'm gonna assume you didn't notice that same light flashing every time you turned the car on for the last 1500 miles either?
