PM sent

As you read through the list keep in mind, the S is a great car that holds up very well considering what is asked of it. The few quirks I list are just that but still need to be checked for. I hope your search goes well for you.

good info.

in fact, maybe we can make some kind of FAQ for people buying used S2000's. You know, something that explains what to look for, and what kind of maintenance they might be expected to do, etc. I think that would be useful information.

There is something like this that only touches upon some of these topics stickied in a thread at the top of S2000 Talk.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=154011

Perhaps design a thread to cover all the important points, post it up in S2000 Talk, then ask the mod for S2000 Talk to add it to his FAQ thread. We can also add a link to our own FAQ thread that already exists in "Technical".

Hopefully with some feedback on this a checklist can be put together and stickied that will help those in the market for a used S. Since I realize we have veered off topic a bit, xviper, I can start a new thead in S2000Talk if you think it is a good idea.
Once you get all the feedback you need, you can just post up the final version right here in this thread. I'll take the URL for only that post and add it to the FAQs in "Technical" in UTH and ask the mod for S2000 Talk to do the same. We might even "sticky" it as a separate thread for a little while. Put a title at the top of the post itself to facilitate future searches on key words.

Excellent! Key words added and hopefully there will be some interest. Thanks.

This is an exceedingly difficult question to answer. We have examples of brand new S2000s with only a few thousand miles on the clock where the clutch is toast - a combination of extreme hard use, abuse, not knowing how to shift, not knowing how to move off from a stop, etc. Then there are those who have 70K, 80K, 90K and still on the original clutch. Some even are supercharged, with original clutches with 10s of thousand of miles. So what does this say about those new cars in their first few thousand miles and toasted clutches?

So take it by ear...Is there a way to specifically tell the cluth is toast on the S2k rather than the typical clutch slip.

Also I just wanted to know how is 52K on the s2000. I mean I know its a honda. But I was just a bit skeptical I mean it looks like a significant amount of miles. I am probably going to drive it for another 5 years...So I dont know what to do

thanks guys
