Default MAP Sensor went bad

I have a 2005 AP2 with 14,000 miles on it (I know I should drive it more, its my weekend toy). I just pulled it out of storage after 5 months in the garage under covers.

I drove it about 30 miles then started to have some problems with it idling then stalling. The CEL came on (P0107) and I was able to get it to my mechanic.

My mechanic said that Honda MAP sensors don't go bad very often and was wondering if my CAI could have cause the MAP to go bad. I have had my CAI on for about 2 1/2 years. I trust my mechanic he is a friend and owns his own import car repair shop.

My question to everyone here is can the CAI (AEM V2) foul up the a MAP sensor?

No the CAI would not damage the MAP. And Honda MAPs are not known for their reliability. Luckily, it is a relatively cheap part.

it might be the K&N oil from the CAI that could cause it?

Honda Map Sensor are not that great. I had mine replaced with a new K&N air filter and the car feels new again.

He's got a AEM v2...no oil for that filter.
