Thumbs down MASSIVE coolant leak

I installed my cooling mods today (radiator, hoses, t-stat) and I'm have all sorts of issues with fluid pouring out of the area around the t-stat (i think), it only leaks after being run for a few seconds...

Is there any secret to it or could it jest be purging excess fluid? I am stumped since I have the bolts around the thermostat housing super tight.

plz help I need my car to be mobile tonight!

There shouldn't be any purging coming from there. Did you over-torque the bolts?

The thermostat fits inside the gasket, and the gasket sits inside a reciever groove in the housing.

You probably don't have the gasket is correctly.

it is possible I over torqued the bolts, I continued to tighten them hoping it would bring an end to the leakage,

now I looked at it though and im not sure it's the housing, I drove it around the black and it bled fluid all over, I jack up just one side when I got back and ran it, the t-stat was dry at that point but fluid was pouring down the side of the block behind the t-stat

Yeah you have to have the little gasket tab in the top groove or else it will be pinched out of place any leak like hell.

^^^
this could be even more likely, I didn't realise that it had to be set correctly...
my buddy was frustrated with it so we went and parked it at my mechanics place last night, he'll crack it open and go, "what an idiot"
