Default radiator fluid

I only have 75K on the odometer, but my radiator is going out fast. I have a strong leak around the top metal seal all the way around.

I have already ordered an OEM replacement, but my question is: does anyone know the fluid capacity of the OEM radiator? Also, any preferences for fluid choice?

Thanks in advance!

Well, stick with Type II fluid first off. You might as well get the honda stuff, at least you'll get the right fluid.

No idea how much you really need to fill it, but you're going to need to bleed it anyway, so buy extra whatever it is. You don't want any air bubbles in the system.

Thanks for the link!!!! I was looking in your DIY's earlier, but I couldn't find anything pertinent to the radiator.

Thanks.

Here's a BIG tip.

Make sure you have good hot heat in the interior when your done bleeding. If you don't, you've got air and will overheat the car for sure. It can take up to 15 miles for it to start overheating with air in the system. I had to teach Honda this a long time ago, when the guy called me on the side of the road after Honda changed the engine. Pathetic.
