It's an oxygen sensor not a temp sensor.
that true, but it's also temp. sensor. the ecu's test to determine if cat is present and working is simply a temp. check. it compares the temp of the primary and secondary 02. both sensors are narrow band 02 sensors and can not even report the a/f at WOT conditions...

anyway back to the topic - my o2 fix is still working on my07, no cel after 1000+ miles....

It is definitely an O2 sensor, which I'm guessing, is looking for a very lean A/F, considering the purpose of the catalytic converter. Using an extension to remove the O2 sensor as far away from the flow of exhaust seems to not work for the 06+, so something different mechanically might need to be thought up. Or people start buying an electrical fix...
do you have a 06, your sig says 01? anyways no problems here using the standard mechanical fix on my07... not sure why peeps think the 06+ are more sensitive..
