few questions for the experts

1. it seems that a lot of folks with MY06+ have had hit or miss experiences with this mod, i was wondering if that's due to an ECU change with regard to the logic around the sensor input, or if it's due to the fact that the sensors are newer and more responsive??

2. does anyone know if and when the O2 sensor should be replaced? i have an MY01 with ~80k on the clock.

3. i was reading a book on these O2 sensors, and it said that the output is a voltage ranging from .1V~.9V (lean to rich). If that's the case, has anyone thought about putting in a voltage divider to effectively lower that voltage?

Bump for this working on MY00 with gutted stock catalytic converter and universal Bosch o2 sensor. Used both spark plug anti-foulers in the pack, drilled the one out, screwed them together, screwed them into cat, screwed in o2, reset ecu, and I've gone two weeks with not a peep from the CEL.

ok, quick question for everybody that has tried this...did you use both of the anti-foulers? or just one? did you drill out both (if you used both)? Or not?

Just for the records, I used both and only drilled out one.
I used both but only drilled out one.

I just realized that this was your thread, Eric Good shiet!! I have done this mod for my car and another member's car and it has worked to perfection both times

Just posting up I have a 06 with the ebay cel fix and 1000 miles no code!

I will say that I typically do the same fix as illustrated by OP but that would occasionally trigger the cel. I'm thinking it needs to be slightly longer to avoid the code.

Cheers!

Just did this myself. I have a Megan Racing downpipe into a test pipe and what do ya know, it blows the O2 code all the time. Took 10 mins max, took $10 max (if you already have an 18mm wrench, a 1/2" drill bit, and some electrical cleaner). Re-used the old O2 after cleaning it. So far so good.

My o2 was shot to begin with so it was no surprise to me that my cel came back on. I'll get to replacing the o2 soon and I hope that it won't blow the new one with this mod.
