Default Melted AEM UEGO connector

Melted the plastic clip that connects the sensor to the gauge. I should be able to cut the clip out and just splice all the wires together accordingly, correct? I feel like the obvious answer is yes, but this happened to me 4 years ago and for some reason I don't think it worked. I can do 20+ successful N2O installs, IP HG, and boost my car, but still have a silly question like this. The only reason I didn't try it myself is because I don't have a sensor yet, just the gauge.

Should work, but any added resistance from the splicing will alter voltages and cause the display to show incorrect AFR's (since the AFR is calculated based on how much voltage is received)
You should be able to buy a new harness from AEM instead off the whole unit again

This would be the best idea then, correct? Just replace with this cable and the sensor up above... should be like new after that?

Aem has a part number for just a new connector with pins if you don't want to run a new wire. Aem 35-2613.
