Default Metal Grinding and Break pads

So I had this terrible metal scraping sound every time I would break. Right after the breaking it would make the constant metal grind with every revolution. I noticed a centimeter ring on the outer rotor caused by the scraping. I was thinking the break pad was worn out and I was right. The pads obviously did not have the warning system to let you know they were gone. There is a noticeable depth difference from the ring and the rest of the rotor by the touch of the finger but it is not that deep. Will the rotor be just fine with new pads? Or would i have to resurface? I have to take a 2 hour drive in the next day or so and I'm wondering if i could just replace with cheap pads and resurfacing and buying new rotors later. thanks.

Sorry bout the Iphone photos.

I originally thought something might've been caught between the pad and the rotor. Metal, pebble, etc.
