My no. 1 cyl misfired and the car runs like kaka. I now have a engine light and VSA light as well. The car in in the shop and now getting valve adjustment. But I am still puzzled as to why it would misfire. Anyone have any input?

Youd better have someone with brains doing your valve adjustment. they need to look closely for cracked retainers. Ive never heard or seen one on an ap2, but im sure its possible. search cracked retainers and youll see what your up against.

It's the dealership's job to find out why it misfired.

 

Single cylinder misfire usually is bad ign. coil.

 

I fought the misfire battle for two months (only that long because of money) but yea, at first i thought i had blown a valve or something the way the car was choking, but i was stuck at the mall and everybody decided to leave their cell phones off for the hour i tried to call. Boo. Anyways, i replaced the plugs, my #1 plug was decimated. The car gfelt great. Then it sucked two days later. So now i am replacing the coil packs. If this doesnt work, well, gasoline and a match will do.
