Default missing fourth

recently i let a friend borrow my car.BIG MISTAKE.

he said he tried to down shift to 4th to pass someone.PROBABLY RACING.
and shifted into 2nd.

i had noticed before this happened that my clutch was wearing out, lucky for me.

when he did this it completely threw one of the set of springs out of the clutch plate and there was a crack on the plate where another spring almost came out.
this was a stage three clutch masters clutch.

so i replaced the clutch with a new oem clutch, replaced the pressure plate and throw out bearing and everything seems fine.

just wanted to see if there is something i need to get checked out with the engine.

He may have overreved your engine. Taking apart the head and checking the valves could save you alot of time and money in the long run.

Start by pulling the valve cover and checking for cracked retainers, no need to take apart the whole head. Key point missing here is how fast he was going when he downshifted.

however, rev limiter does NOT kick in during over-rev situations.

rev-limiter merely cuts off the gas...it does NOT prevent your engine from OVER-REVVING.

how long did he keep it in gear for? that plays a big role too. if he just slipped it in gear and took it out immediately, then it shouldn't be a big of a deal. I guess that'll be the last time he'll drive your S.

he says that he pressed the clutch really quick, but who knows how quick it did happen.

the engine sounds and runs fine;no check engine light yet.

yes that is the last time that anyone will EVER drive my S.

is there a thread on compression and leak down test.
